Innovative Technology - Advancements in Liposuction
Over the years, the field of liposuction has seen significant growth and
evolution in minimally invasive treatment approaches. Advances in both
technology and surgical techniques are the result of continuous research and
development, physician experience, and new patient requirements. Today’s
complex array of treatment technologies and methods requires ongoing
training. At the International Academy of Body Contouring and Laser Lipolysis,
our goal is to share current both real-world experiences and science through
continuing education.
Traditional Liposuction
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures today.
Tumescent local anesthesia is considered the gold standard for liposuction
surgery. The main objective of traditional liposuction, a surgically invasive
procedure, is the removal of fat and excessive adipose tissue.
This and a host of other treatments relating to liposuction, body contouring
and laser lipolysis are demonstrated during Academy programs
under the guidance of highly experienced faculty members.
Education and training are integral to providing successful outcomes and also
maintaining a high degree of patient satisfaction.
Laser Lipolysis - The Future of Body Contouring
Laser lipolysis (laser–assisted lipolysis) is the latest advancement in body
contouring, providing benefits to both physicians and patients. Compared
to traditional liposuction, laser lipolysis allows for faster recovery with less
bruising and swelling. In addition, the thermal effect of the laser yields
effective tissue coagulation and collagen production, resulting in tighter
skin.
Laser lipolysis is ideal for defining problem zones like double chins, as well
as areas in the neck, arms, thighs, saddlebags, knees, or for abnormal
proportions in otherwise well defined areas. Laser lipolysis also provides a
new approach for the treatment of aging skin, scars and cellulite and can
effectively reduce areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Further
studies are ongoing like hyperhidrosis and male gynecomastia.
In the past two years, technology has significantly advanced and treatment
areas and approaches have evolved.
At the Academy programs, the physician can learn about and gain handson
experience with new, state-of-the-art technologies and treatments.
